T2E 2021

The Trauma and Emergency in the Elderly (T2E) Congress was, once again, organized online this year. This event, all about the elderly, in between geriatrics and emergency medicine but also anesthesia and surgery, attracts experts from many specialties.

Last year, exchanges and discussions between speakers and their audience showed how necessary these types of events are, in order to apprehend problematics, confront scientific data and homogenize our practice.

Challenge

This year’s program had to be elaborated to complement the previous ones. As the congress was exponentially growing in its usual format, this year’s digital aspect led us to re-think how to attract as many specialties as possible, while creating a dynamic and interactive experience.

Solution

In order to offer an enriching and diverse congress, two virtual rooms were created: HIP day, where peri-operative stress, the importance of sleep and pre-habilitation and frequent traumatology in the elder subject were approached. The 2ndvirtual room, HOPE day, addressed various but still current subjects like the flu, epilepsy, digestive and metabolic emergencies, as well as recent recommendations for myocardial infarctions.

Outcomes

Thanks to more than 130 registered participants, 12 specialties were represented during the event. The addition of a live chat allowed many exchanges and insured a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Now available in replay, numerous experts can benefit from this event and all of the knowledge that was transmitted by registering.
